Parks Canada

Because our village lies within the boundaries of Yoho National Park, it is in a unique situation whereby the general town services – water, sewer, garbage, snow removal, etc. – are managed by Parks Canada. However, Field does have a council consisting of 10 members split evenly between the F.C.C. (Field Community Council) and the F.R.A.A. (Field Recreation / Advisory Association). The latter is incorporated under the Society Act of British Columbia.

Field Recreation / Advisory Association

As mentioned above, this is the incorporated arm of the community council who’s main purpose is organizing events throughout the year. The F.R.A.A. consists of 5 members.

The defined purposes of the Association are:

  1. To assist recreation activities as a whole for the Community.
  2. To obtain and control finances and to procure and administer equipment in connection with the foregoing objectives; and to assure that such finances and properties are not misused or used for purposes at variance with these objectives.
  3. To encourage all citizens to assume their share of responsibility and participate in the support of community recreation.
  4. To co-operate with all properly constituted bodies, both elected and appointed.

Field Community Council

More to come on the Field Community Council. The F.C.C. consists of 5 members.
